Threads

A ray of sunlight loses its grip
falls uncontrollably, tumbles.
Crashes on my face in a silent explosion.
The air ripples like water,
the ground trembles below us,
there, where the summer’s warmth returns,
we stand next to each other smiling.

Lost threads
and lost words,
make it easy for us to forget.
But, you see, don’t want to.
I don’t want to.

But the warmth makes me thirsty and tired.
You give me words to drink
and I lick up everything, every drop, devour.
Knowledge we’ve missed for a long time
came to us in the sunlight,
there, where the trees whisper of forgotten stories,
they — the secrets of my heart.
