On the 29th and 30th August there was a festival called Summerstop on Lauluv21jak (it means sth like singing-plochad’) in Tallinn. And I was so very happy when I found out from the official MT web-site that MT was going to Estonia, to perform on that festival as a special guest from Russia!!!!!:) I went and bought a ticket, one-day ticket actually because I wanted to see only MT!:) I have known MT for two years (since Eurovision 2001) and now this was my first time to really see them!!!!:) And I was quite nervous before on the concert-morning actually…
I’m glad that I didn’t have to go there alone.. (well, Estonians don’t really know much about Russian music, though…) :since this spring I have a penfriend from Estonia who has been loving MT since 1996 already! We have even met some times and she’s really nice person. But in August I also saw a message on the Forum where another girl offered people a chance to meet before the concert and to go and see MT together!:) So I wrote her, I tried to write in Russian (and it worked out even;)) and told her that I was an Estonian girl actually and maybe me and my friend will come to this meeting too… and she was very happy and sent me her photo and I sent her mine. And so we met by the Russalka before the concert, I met her friend also, and once again I realized how nice people MT fans are!:) Thank you Sluchainost, kSju:), Selestina!!!!:) We spoke Russian and Estonian both:) It was fun! I had a wonderful time!:) They brough many pink air-baloons and so we wrote there our names and MT logo:) They asked me why I hadn’t done something with my long hair, at first I didn’t understand what they meant but kSju:) said that she lost half of her hair during a concert once… Then I understand why they had been through so much trouble with their hair! And one funny thing: I wear eye-glasses and so I came with them, but other girls didn’t wear them at first, but when they saw me with them, then they also took their glasses out of the bag and put them on;)) ha-haa!:) By the way — I really chose with care what to wear at the concert:)… so finally I had jeanes, a black blouse (because it looked like the one that Ilja wore at Eurovision;)) but as the weather wasn’t very warm then I also had a purple jacket on the blouse, so this black blouse wasn’t seen much… mmmm…. But the sun was shining later, although there was a gentle rain in the morning.
So we went together to the concert. Many bands performed but we were still waiting for our favourite-MT!!!!!! The festival began at 14 already. So we later just sat under a tree and waited:) MT performance was from 19 to 20, but when the band before finished at 18, then we went to the front of the stage right away and started to wait for MT!!!!!!!:) O my god, I couldn’t believe that I was on the first row!!!!!! Almost in the center of it!:) I had a pink balloon at first and Selestina had others. Everyone around me spoke Russian, so I actully felt like one of them:)
Soon after the last band left, Juri, Sdvig and Oleg came to the stage!!!!!!:) People we’re so happy, screaming even. This was really happening — I finally saw them with my own eyes!!!!!:) I felt so happy and blessed!:) And I have to say that they looked exactly (!) like I’ve always pictured them to be, their whole being, the way they were and everything, I couldn’t belive that that was actually my first (!) time to see them!!!!! Like I’ve known them my whole life! I respect and cherish them so much but I’m not like a crasy fan who thinks about his/her idol as a god not as a human being. When I saw on the stage my absolute favourite band MT, then I saw them as people, people I know so well, like my friends and family, not some kind of unreal idols. MT members are so so dear to me and I care about them so much and always wish all the best for them.
When the time was already 19, then Ilja came to the stage!!!!!!:) For me it was an owerwhelming feeling of sincere happiness! The first thing he said was: Tere, Tallinn; tere, Eestimaa’ (it means: privet, Tallinn, privet, Estland) I don’t remember the last time when I was so so happy! I just looked at him, during the whole concert actually:) And I was smiling!:) And Ilja was also so familiar to me, like an old friend that I’ve known for a long time, everything was so common: the way he looked like, the way he acted, the way he sang…:) So famous but so known for me, not some kind of unreal celebrity from TV. Strange feeling.
This was the best hour in my life! The first song was 'Malish’ and the last one (that everyone waited for) was 'Vldivostok 2000’ of course!:) And I sang along the whole time with others, loudly actually, but the music was so loud that I couldn’t hear my own voice (so others didn’t notice my Estonian accent;)) Other songs that I recalled later were: 'Eto po ljubvi’, 'Devochka’, 'Nevesta’, 'Karnavala.net.’, Delfiny’, 'Ranetka’, Dobroe Utro, Planeta’, Morskaja kapusta’, Utekai’. One thing about 'Utekai’: Ilja sang this part of the song: 'la la la lai la ala la la la lai, utekai!’ in the end of the song several times any each time was more quickly then the last one, so quickly again and again!!!!:) It was great to sing along!:)
I remember that during one song I turned my eyes to Juri and I saw that he was also looking at me, so we looked at each other about a few seconds, because I think that when Juri realised that I looked back at him then he turned his eyes away. Many songs had passed already but when 'Nevesta’ was also coming to an end, then Ilja also looked at me…!!!!:)… at least I think he did!:) aaaaa….. Let’s belive that!:)
But people we’re pushing each other so much, I grabed my hair and tryed to get it free, but my hair wasn’t moving;)…. then I recalled the words that was told me before about it:)
I didn’t actually realize how quickly time had passed, because when my friend asked me during MT performance what the time was then I was quite shocked that three quaters of the hour were already passed! Unbelievable!
After 'Vladivostok 2000’ Ilja said 'Ait2h, Tallinn!’(thank you, Tallinn!); he said 'ait2h’ very longly:), on purpose of course, like aiiittttt22222222hh! It was wonderful to hear Ilja speaking Estonian!!!!:) So I just kept on smiling!!!!:)
But then they left … and didn’t came back that time. We even waited with a little hope but then we also left because people we’re coming to listen the next band. We all felt a bit sadness after this great joy!
But now I can also say that I’ve seen Mumiy Troll!!!!:) This was certainly something that I’ll never forget, one of the brightest moment of my life!!!!:) Thank you so much, dear Mumiy Troll, for coming to Estonia (I actually didn’t expect it to happen so suddenly!:)) and for this unforgettable concert!!!!!!!:) Spasibo bolchoe bolchoe bolchoe, ogromnoe ogromnoe ogromnoe!!!!!!!:) I’ll never forget this, nor you!
And I hope that you’ll come to Estonia again!
All the best! Always!
