“Rolling Stones of Russia■ bring “rockapops■ sound to the Ranch
To the good people here in the States, Russia is generally equated with vodka, Communism, and Sarah Palin`s formerly “watchful eye.■ Rock `n` roll? Not so much.
Lucky for us, insanely popular (in Russia) band Mumiy Troll is determined to change that. MT`s catchy “rockapops■ sound is kind of like The B-52s singing lead for Franz Ferdinand, but with a mildly disturbing edge. The video for «Me Eskimo (My Polar Bear),» for example, mixes furry fetishes with some very large and naughty pickles.
