“The ocean we have to cross is not good for tour buses so Mumiy Troll is starting to equip our submarine,» jokes Founder and Lead Singer Ilya Lagutenko. “Mumiy Troll have always been a band who took chances. From the very beginning when there was no independent music scene in Russia, we set out to create one. We were able to open up Russian music fans and decision makers to the idea of touring, releasing our own records and promoting our band when that idea didn`t even exist in our country. We hope to bring that same energy and enthusiasm to North America in 2009.■

From being decried as “one of the most socially dangerous bands in the world■ by a local Communist party chief to being hailed as “Best Band of the Millennium■ by leading Russian music critics, Mumiy Troll have conquered the Russian music scene by the sheer force of their enthusiasm and determination. They began playing clubs dates in Siberia in their hometown of Vladivostock and steadily building a large fanbase that now packs arenas in Moscow, St. Petersburg as well as the Baltic States. In fact, the band has confirmed dates in Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia well into 2009. For more tour details, click here:
