DOSTOEVSKYS OF MODERN POP Release First English Single

Do you know the feeling when you stand on a cliff or a mountain on a really stormy day; gale force wind blowing so hard that you can`t catch your breath? This is the effect that the beauty and power of Vladivostok glam-pop four piece Mumiy Troll have on their fans — faced with the combination of energy, dreamy romanticism, powerful beauty and glittering irony, I dare you to inhale.

Top Russian rock band Mumiy Troll release their first English single `Lucky Bride?` in Europe on 20th February 2002. The single has an international flavour as it was recorded and mixed by John Hudson at Mayfair Studios, London, and includes two Club Mixes by Danish duo Filur and a Progressive House Mix by Italians DJ Peace & DJ Sextasy. The CD also features an innovative video by Latvian director and computer artist Victor Vilks. This is latest chapter in the exciting history of the band that changed the face of the Russian music scene.

From the early days when they were banned by the local Communist Party chief and labelled `one of the most socially dangerous bands in the world` to being voted `Best Band of the Millennium`, Mumiy Troll have released three chart-topping albums and 5 singles and were the first Russian band to use promotional videos in addition to constant touring. They have insisted on total independence and are guaranteed to consistently surprise even their most loyal fans.

- The very same day that they released their single `The Carnival Is Over` Vladimir Putin took over from Boris Yeltsin.
- Time Out (London) wrote that they `stole the show` when they represented Russia in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, writing that they stood out as snakeskin heroes amongst all the taffeta and tuxedos.
- They are rumoured to spend what little spare time they have gliding around the Russian coast in an ex-navy submarine.

Mumiy Troll will be touring Denmark, Greenland, Sweden and Finland to promote `Lucky Bride?` — their second European tour in six months — and prestigious London dates are in the pipeline.
